Seeking an experience Materials Planning Manager who can quickly set the strategic direction of the department in accordance with the Leadership Team guidance. The Materials Planning Manager is responsible for all material, externally/internally, including planning & releasing, to ensure finished goods are shipped on-time to customers. The successful candidate will execute production schedules together with the production managers and assures material and production capacity fulfill customer demands. The position has full control over all inventory and assures that the organization always operates with a minimal amount of inventory.

Responsibilities: include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
•    Recommends improvements to reduce cost and drive productivity within the department while achieving the targeted sales growth goals.
•    Ensure timely unloading, receiving, storage and delivery of material to the production areas
•    Maintains inventory and product loss control, coordinates timely and accurate shipping and receiving, and ensures safety/operational guidelines are met.
•    Maintain cycle count standard work goals with the long-term objective of achieving cycle count certification
•    Maintain and issue inventory reporting, including inventory accuracy, cycle count metrics and scrap processing
•    Implement and enforce standard work across the functions
•    Drive continuous improvement activities in all functional areas
•    Provide leadership in selecting, developing, and evaluating personnel to ensure the efficient operation of the function
•    Manage suppliers and service providers that support receiving, warehousing, and shipping functions
•    Works with plant management and other supervisory staff to assign, direct, review and monitor work of supervised staff to maximize productivity warehouse and shipping department.
•    Optimize shipping and Receiving processes.
•    Motivate staff to make an effective and efficient team
•    Engages in the typical responsibilities of a manager requiring planning, evaluating, organizing, integrating, and delegating

Key Competencies
•    Experience with rate-based or flow line (non-MRP) and job shop manufacturing environments.
•    Experience in operations, inventory management, MRP and lean manufacturing processes.
•    Experience with visual management systems using flow and pull manufacturing
•    Familiarity with Microsoft Office products and other inventory control/shipping software
•    Knowledge of Visual MRP preferred

•    Bachelor’s degree preferred; 5+ years of relative experience required in lieu of degree
•    APICS Certification in Production and Inventory Management (CPIM) desirable
•    A minimum of 3+ years of experience in a manufacturing environment
•    Experience working with companies in a high mix product offering. 
•    Ability to perform effectively with fluctuating workload.
•    Ability to work with multiple functions to coordinate the flow of information.
•    Strong verbal and written communication skills.
•    Ability to meet deadlines and juggle multiple projects.
•    Experience leading a team either in a manager or supervisor role
