About this role

Our digitally enabled and data-led global supply chain is backed with a spend of $9.5B across 16 manufacturing sites worldwide. The segment category manager will help shape the e2e direction of our regional supply chain and take control of the full material management strategy - designing, planning, sourcing, and purchasing. Right now, we have roles in multiple locations across the country, covering different commodities - from Plastics/Packaging to Motors and Compressors.

Key Responsibilities
You’ll use your industry knowledge and your understanding of sourcing concepts and lean tools to deliver our parts on time and at the best cost and quality. This role will involve:

  • Developing and implementing a category strategy to optimize affordability, availability, agility, and innovation. 
  • Managing external relationships with suppliers and taking responsibility for all internal activities and decisions associated with your category, including contract negotiation, new product development, approved vendor list, RFX, re-sourcing, dual qualification, pricing changes, quality, and capacity
  • Collaborating within the Global Category team and across Product Management and Engineering to align on long-term strategy, technology roadmap, and risk mitigation
  • Developing and maintaining expert knowledge of respective global supply markets, competitors, and product innovations


Requirements

Required Qualifications
An independently-driven problem-solver, with an appetite to address complex challenges in a fast-moving environment, you will bring:

  • Bachelor’s degree in supply chain, engineering, finance, or business
  • 5+ years' experience in sourcing environment and familiarity with industrial operations

Preferred Qualifications
Other qualifications you may have that would be beneficial in this role include:

  • MBA or professional certifications (CPM, CPSM, CIRM, CPIM)
  • Experience with strategic sourcing and lean tools
  • Digital dexterity and ability to leverage data
  • Strong knowledge of supply chain strategy (development and execution) and category-specific experience
  • Proven track record of successful leadership, negotiation, and strategic communication
  • Strong business acumen and experience collaborating across various levels within a diverse, global organization
